Direct Hiring Captain Recruitment for Japan residents with Japanese work permit

AirJapan started recruiting Captains residing in Japan who hold a valid Japanese-issued Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and are able to work in Japan without restrictions.
Candidates with a global outlook, specialized skills and a strong desire to undertake the responsibility of operating flights for both the “ANA” and “AirJapan” brands are encouraged to apply.

Position

Pilot (Captain)

Employment Type

Upon joining the company, flight crew employees will initially hold a fixed-term contract position during their training period and will transition to full-time employment upon obtaining a captain’s certificate with the ANA Group.
Regular employees have a retirement age of 60 years old. Following this, they may continue as contract employees, with annual renewals, until the age of 65.

Qualifications

We are recruiting Japan-resident Captains who can work in Japan without restrictions.
Please refer to the following minimum requirements for (1) and (2).

(1)For those residing in Japan and currently working for a Japanese airline.
In principle, applicants must hold the following certificates issued by a Japanese authority that are valid at the time of application and at the time of joining Air Japan.

  • ・ATPL
  • ・Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate
  • ・Aviation English Language Proficiency Certificate (Level 4 or above)

    ※English proficiency is required for duty performance

  • ・Aviation Medical Certificate (Class 1)
  • ・Minimum of 2,500 hours of PIC time (including minimum of 1,000 hours of PIC time with Japanese airlines on JET aircraft)

(2)For those currently working for a non-Japanese airline.
Proof of Japanese residence, arranged personally, must be submitted by a date specified by Air Japan prior to joining the company. In principle, applicants must hold the following certificates that are valid at the time of application and at the time of joining Air Japan.

  • ・ATPL
  • ・Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate
    Applicants are required to hold ATPL and Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate issued by a Japanese authority at the time of application, even if they are currently working for a non-Japanese airline.
  • ・Aviation English Language Proficiency Certificate (Level 4 or above)

    ※English proficiency is required for duty performance

  • ・Aviation Medical Certificate (Class 1)
    For Aviation English Language Proficiency Certificate and the Class 1 aviation medical certificate, ICAO license is acceptable for application. However, applicants are required to obtain them issued by a Japanese authority by the end of April 2025 at your own arrangement.
  • ・Minimum of 2,500 hours of PIC time (including minimum of 1,000 hours of PIC time with Japanese airlines on JET aircraft)

  3. The application form for the aviation medical examination conducted in Japan most recently

Main Work Locations

Narita International Airport, Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), and other locations designated by Air Japan

Compensation

Payment will be made in accordance with company regulations.

Work Schedule

Variable working hours based on assigned flight and related duties including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays *Includes overtime, holidays and late-night

Days off and Leave

Approximately 10 days off per month. Annual leave and special leave (refreshment leave, marriage or compassionate leave, other statutory leave, etc.)
